B-day girl at Piano

I had a wonderful evening Saturday night. Very dear friends were up from mass. and we went out for a delicious dinner at the Victoria Inn. There was a B-day party going on in one of the rooms. After it was over, the B-day girl sat down at the piano and entertained the diners. I couldn't resist taking a few pictures.(Yes I had my camera with me) Lynn Arizzi and her husband Joe are very active in the community. I love their 'energy' and of course Lynn's lovely talent!

Bar Harbor Maine

I was graciously invited by my friend Robin also a photographer to join her at her time share in Bar Harbor. We had some gorgeous weather..but COLD. Winter is definitely upon us. We made it for sunrise atop Cadilac Mt. and strolled on the beach in the park.

Sharon and Ron ~ Oct 12 2008

Later in the evening the couple gave out some yummy esspresso coffees and cigars ~ much appreciated by everyone.

I think Sharon and Ron had one of the finest weather conditions of the season. A perfect day to have a ceremony on the 18th hole of the Bethel Inn in Bethel Maine. Penny (cocker spaniel) was the adorable ring bearer. Jamie Freeman DJ http://www.onthefly.com/ kept the party Rockin!

2008/10/11

Robin and Chadwick had a real Downeast Wedding... Held at Robins fathers http://www.pendletonyachtyard.com/ on the island ~ Isleboro Me. A grand entrance on a lobster boat followed by a short ride in a 1928 Ford Model A. Fantastic flower arrangements.....and of course a mouth watering Lobstah Bake!

During the reception Robin and Chad let me steal them away for a quick stroll in the lovely evening light and returned to the party to dance the night away to the rollicking http://www.willykelly.com/willykelly.com/

The Finley Family

It always amazes me how fast the little ones grow. It seems it was just yesterday when I photographed Dr. Kevin Finley, Margie ,and very grown up Caroline. ~ Rosie popped by with a smile every now and then!

Trashing the Dress

For those of you who haven't heard about 'trash the dress' I will give you what I think is an explanation. All day during the Brides wedding day she has to be carefull not to 'trash' her dress! That isn't much fun! Somewhere along the way someone came up with an idea for an apres photo shoot....A chance to get in the dress again and forget about the worry of keeping the dress pristin and to have a fun photo shoot. It has become more popular and also very creative. I was thrilled when Deena (she is in an earlier blog) asked if I would photograph her apres the wedding. I can't believe they actually went in the water ~ up to thier necks! This is Maine! what a fun and hardy couple!

2008/09/26

Marian

Marian had her senior pictures taken at the Artist Bridge in Newry. I was having so much fun (loved her dress) we continued the shoot at the railroad tracks.

D.J.s Vance and Eric kept the guests rockin http://www.ontheflydj.com/

Deena and Jon were married at the http://www.mainehouse.com/ in Bryant pond Maine. The weather was perfect. Warmer than usual...which encouraged some hardy souls to take a refreshing dip into Lake Christopher. Yes!!! the bride and groom too!

Stacey -owner of the Victoria Inn, http://www.thevictoria-inn.com/ made the scrumpstious and beautiful cake! Deena got ready at the Inn, where the couple spent thier wedding night.

Litty and Martin

Litty and Martin threw a fabulous celebration! The location http://www.hermitisland.com/ which was a 'stones throw' from thier home was a perfect location. Many campsites and cottages for guests to settle in for a weekend. I didn't think it was possible to make the KelpShed festive, but Wow!... did Litty prove me wrong. Her incredible artistic talent transformed that rustic shack. I loved the colorful contrast. Add the Underachivers (far from thier namesake-a Rockin Band!) 207-697-3772..and the Simply Elegant selegant@suscom-maine.net caterars... Yummy.

Everyone was thankful the remnants of Hurrican Hannah took a little break for us to really appreciate the great maine seaside! A fantastic weekend!

Monhegan Island

Just got back from a great mini excursion.
My dear friend Jane asked if I would like to hike around on Monhegan Island http://www.monhegan.com/ I am so glad we did! You can get there by ferry. We chose http://www.monheganboat.com/ A very gracious family run business
.
I had heard alot about how beautiful this artist paradise is, but you really have to visit to believe.
Here is Bob and Anns owner-Shadrack -47 year old yellow naped amazon parrot!
Bob said I could take thier picture if I agreed to send them an image.~not the e-mail kind! I hope I can remember how to do 'snail mail' :)
.

Amber

Amber brought Kittie to join in on a couple of her senior pictures. One of the locations we used, had a 'no dogs' sign. It was tempting to have her walk by the sign with Kittie on a leash!.... Maybe next time!

2008/08/25

Niki

Another beautiful day for senior portraits. Niki came with her boyfriend Eric so I persuaded him to join in the fun!

Roha with her Human

Lynn's Mom was needing some new photo's of her daughter. Lynn was willing to do it if she had her little cutie, Roha join her. Roha is a Brussels Griffin..... although he knows that he is really a Human!

Beth and Sherwin

Beth and Sherwin are such a sweet and lovely couple. A drenching down pour didn't alter thier disposition at all! The ceremony was originally planned to be on the lawn of the picturesque www.RangeleyInn.com . A huge clap of thunder (almost dropped my camera) opened up the heavens and there was a scramble to set up inside the Inn. Luckily it cleared up so we could do formals outside. Here are a few choice favorites...

2008/08/23

Brandon

Brandon is a white water rafter so the location for his Senior Portrait was a simple decision. His dog and brother came along and joined in on the fun.

two of my walking buddies.

Carol Villella and Family

I have been falling behind on my blogging....So I will be posting 'snippets' from each event. Here is a large family portrait with many smaller groupings from which I have picked a couple of my favorites. It was a beautiful day and I new the Villella family did not want to spend it waiting around for their turn for posing. Most of the family were staying at the http://www.bethelinn.com/ So we chose the Gazebo and pretty park in front for the photo session.

2008/08/13

Nicole and David

I was back at the Bar Harbor Inn http://www.barharborinn.com/ and what a beautiful day to be there! The day was perfect and so were Nicole and David. Everyone and everything was a feast for my eyes.
I was the second shooter with Sarah Bastille as the primary shooter http://www.sarahbastille.com/ . Sarah is just wonderful to shoot with.

Here are a few images from the day...

Here is Sarah doing what she does so well!

As I was leaving Bar Harbor, I was treated to some real Downeast Scottish charm. A bagpiper was playing high on a cliff across from The Colony. Of course I had to stop and capture the moment!

Chanterelle's

All this rain has been challenging for my environmental portraits...but the mushrooms -they're loveing it! While I tromp through the woods with my walking buddies (my 3 dogs) I am amazed at the incredible amount and variety of mushrooms -Everywhere- When Don, my Father-n-law said he was going to cook some chanterelles I became very interested. My Grandma used to pick them in Sweden ..she picked everything edible and decorative from the woods. I definitely inherited her foraging love but not her knowledge for edible mushrooms! I waited for Don to cook and eat what he believed was the Chanterelles. When I called him this morning and he was still - alive- and- with no gastrointestinal irritation I happily took him up on his offer for sauteed mushrooms with scrambled eggs! -Yummy!

This ,of course, is not a mushroom but I liked the tiny little spider sitting on the petal and found it surprising that an iris was still blooming at this time of the year.
Chef Don

This shroom is NOT a chanterelle I just liked the fact that the blueberry and mushroom were cozy together!

Lanette Bryant's senior portrait

We didn't think the photo session was going to happen on Monday. The weather lately just
doesn't want to make up it's mind! It cleared in just the right amount of time. I had alot of fun. Lanette's Mom was a wonderful assistant and Lanette was lovely! Here are a few of my favorites...

Music for Therapy Dogs!

While enjoying the Belfast Art Fair with my husband, we were really impressed with two darling sisters playing the Fiddle and Cello. They had a hat out in front for a collection to raise money for training their dog Ruby to become a Therapy Dog. What a fantastic deed, and such talented and beautiful girls. If they were my children I would be bursting with pride! I could have sat on that curb for hours enjoying thier music and my clicking. Bravo to Hilla and Cori!

Marlie..

In a previous post Marlie was not yet born. Here she is at 12 weeks with proud Mom and Dad.

She had to take a little nap, which gave me an opportunity to grab some shots of her buddy Owen - a Sun Conure. She is already a lover of animals, like her Mom and Dad. I love the shot of her cuddling with Emmett!

Tracy and Patricks Anniversary

I had so much fun this past monday! My wedding couple from one year ago(exactly) came up from Mass. to celebrate thier anniversary at the Inn where they had their celebration. http://www.crockerpond.com/ We never had a chance to do an engagement photo so we decided to meet for an anniversary photo shoot instead. They are avid outdoor enthusiasts and one of their passions is to kayak -the rapids! We couldn't have had a better day! Since we have had alot of rain (almost nothing but!) there was no shortage of -rapids- We took a nice drive up rt. 26 to Errol. There is a good stretch of rapids right by the Northern Waters Outfitters http://www.beoutside.com/ The water was high and Douge at the Outfitters told us it was a class 2 plus! Tracy and Patrick made it look so easy! If you look closely at the 4th photo you can see the two. It took no time at all for them to be right in front of me! I have loads of great images! Here are just a few...with a couple of our famous Lupin fields ...... Thank you Tracy and Patrick -you're the best!

Weekend on Mt Desert Island....

I had a fantastic weekend. a few images have already been posted but I hadn't put up any wedding images.... Here are a few of the very lovely couple Lesli and Nate. The full upload on my website should be ready for the bridal party and guests to view before the weekend . These are just a sampling. The weather started a little gloomy with drizzles but turned in time to give us a splendid ending to a lovely day.
The Bar Harbor Inn and the musicians~The Tea House Trio~ made for a very elegant wedding.

Breakfast at Sips~

I had a wedding scheduled at the BarHarbor Inn on saturday. (photos to come later...) My husband and I love Mt Desert Island so we decided to make it a weekend. What a wonderful time we had! We left friday at noon so I could have plenty of time to pop in at the rehearsal....which went quite well.

Had a lovely breakfast at Sips in Southwest Harbor. I knew my day was headed in the right direction, when at the table next to us, a guitar was being pulled out! ~ Bill Shaw, a local musician began rehearsing for his scheduled June 11th performance. Such a treat!...of course I had to grab my camera!

Another beautiful belly!

I have another maternity shoot I'd like to share.... Lisa and Scott are white water river guides, so it was not a surprise when they suggested a maternity shoot by one of Maines many dazzling rivers. I had such a wonderful time....a very special couple....can't wait for the baby shoot!
